
We don't make rules that don't make sense. Our clients invariably come to us through recommendations, and they enter Meier in a huge variety of ways. Some have used us only for research and analysis, some only for creative. Some have come in for specific projects - the management of a launch, perhaps - or the promotion of a brand during a specific market.
The majority of our clients, however, have made use of most or all of our services over the length and breadth of the relationship; and most of these have lasted years and sometimes decades. We're equally comfortable with the ship that passes in the night as with the untethered island, which drifts toward us, demanding to become a peninsula.
We don't do work on spec; we've spent twenty-five years being well paid for our work. The object of the exercise is not to dazzle the prospective client with beautiful visuals, but to solve their problems and create strong foundations for their growth. The idea of presenting something created outside of its circle of information, skills,financial issues, and personal goals makes no sense. A client who wants to quickly sell his company is going to have very different goals and issues from a client who is trying to create a healthier business for his children to inherit. We handle both.
We don't make Art, we make Commerce. It's true our creative work has won many awards and has been published in graphic design, advertising, and marketing books all over the world. But if you judge our work on how pretty it is, and not on how well it works, you will be missing the point of what we do.
We don't have a "B" team and we never will. The principals work on all projects and we have direct access to the 'decision makers' on the client end. In more than two decades we have never missed a deadline. We have never disappointed a client by being late or having their work fall behind because another client's work came first.
We don't take clients for granted. In fact, the phrase that guides our work most often is.." if it were my company..." and that's just how we feel—like partners to our clients.
